PROJECT OBJECTIVES Interns are asked to create short films to educate the public on the local biodiversity that makes the Sea Girt, New Jersey Facility. One of these species includes the Osprey, a local bird protected by the state of New Jersey. The Osprey is also Stockton University's mascot.
VIDEO DESCRIPTION 2019 This film briefly summarizes the natural resources located at the SG NGTC and highlights the 2019 osprey nesting season. To do this, past and present photos taken of the nest were frequently reviewed to compile enough footage for this video. 2018 The film includes a brief background of Osprey population decline and protection status, nestling photographs taken by motion sensing game cameras, and current management programs being implemented by the NJDMAVA at the Sea Girt National Guard site. The video was also used in the October 2018 Sea Girt Environmental Boot Camp training event, as well as other presentations to demonstrate how DMAVA monitors Ospreys.
